Ria Sood

Ria is an undergraduate student going into her third year at Downing College at Cambridge University where she is studying for a Bachelor of the Arts in Music. Ria is the President of the Cambridge University Wine Society (CUWS), and also plays badminton for her university and was the president of the music society for her college in 2025-26. This summer, Ria has also interned at the merchant bank Strand Hanson. Last summer, she completed work experience in commercial and immigration law at Prolegis Solicitors, and in 2024 she did work experience in marketing and accounting at Sweet Squared. She has also worked as a waitress during school at the Olive Branch restaurant in Leeds. Ria grew up enjoying wine around the dinner table with her family, and then experiencing wine country during drives through the likes of Champagne and Chablis on her way to their family holiday home in Switzerland. Besides her wine-appreciative parents, she has two sisters and two dogs.
