2020 Chardonnay, Borgo del Tiglio

Mattia and Nicola’s decision not the release a Chardonnay Selezione (a selection of their favourite barrels from the cellar) has been of benefit to the white label Chardonnay. Chardonnay is grown in the estate’s cooler sites, mostly in Ca’ della Vallade and Brazzano, and the resulting wine is at the taut, saline end of the grape’s range, albeit with an appealing creaminess on the mid-palate, owing to some nine months in oak.
