2021 Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru La Coutière, Domaine Henri Magnien

Charles acquired these wines about four years ago with his first vintage being 2018. Since then, he has done a lot of work in the vineyards, including the addition of a significant amount of organic compost. The results have been excellent and the vineyard seems to have come alive again in his care. 2021 is actually a bigger vintage than 2020 for this plot, testament to the health of the vines. The quality of the tannins in what can often be a rustic appellation in the wrong hands, shows what can be achieved with the right approach and overall finesse of the wine is impressive.
