2016 Parus, Tenuta Le Potazzine

Le Potazzine is one of the best addresses in Montalcino for Rosso and Brunello. It’s also a source of bright, fresh IGT wines – primarily for early-drinking, but with the chops to age gracefully. The 2016 Parus (a landmark vintage for Montalcino) is a delicious example. It combines Sangiovese’s signature red berry and savoury aromas with tertiary notes of dried fruit and undergrowth. The name Parus is a nod to the birds that nest in the hedgerows encircling the estate’s organic-farmed vineyards, which lie at altitudes of over 500m, 4km from the town of Montalcino.
