2022 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Malconsorts, Domaine du Clos Frantin

Bichot have a huge holding of this great vineyard (1.75 hectares) and this is quite a different wine to the one above. The tannic structure is much more prominent (such is the natural character of Les Malconsorts) and the wine is generally more backward and some way off being ready. Alain declassifies quite a bit and keeps just the best fruit for this cuvée, which is bright and not heavy or overextracted in anyway. It just needs time to allow its nuances and complexity to come to the fore. Lots to come. Drink from 2030.
