2022 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru, Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot

Yves Confuron has been running his family domaine for almost 20 years now. The domaine is blessed with some great plots and lots of old vines. Yves is generally one of the later vignerons to begin picking as he is keen for his bunches to reach maximum phenolic ripeness. One reason for this is that he doesn’t destem. The wines don’t see much new oak but do spend around 18 months in barrel before being assembled and bottled about three months later. The fruit is dark and ripe, and there is a lovely balance and freshness thanks to the influence of the combe nearby.
