2022 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots, Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot

Yves Confuron has been running his family domaine for almost 20 years now. The domaine is blessed with some great plots and lots of old vines. Yves is generally one of the later vignerons to begin picking as he is keen for his bunches to reach maximum phenolic ripeness. One reason for this is that he doesn’t destem. The wines don’t see much new oak but do spend around 18 months in barrel before being assembled and bottled about three months later. The domaine is the largest holder in 1er Cru Les Suchots with an incredible 2.16 ha. The wine is vibrant, and shows aromatic intensity with notes of blackcurrant, violet and a hint of minerality.
