2022 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux-Saint-Jacques, Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot

Yves Confuron has been running his family domaine for almost 20 years now. The domaine is blessed with some great plots and lots of old vines. Yves is generally one of the later vignerons to begin picking as he is keen for his bunches to reach maximum phenolic ripeness. One reason for this is that he doesn’t destem. The wines don’t see much new oak but do spend around 18 months in barrel before being assembled and bottled about three months later. The Lavaux St-Jacques being a cooler terroir, there is a beautiful freshness and a succulence of the fruit. Well-managed tannins, exquisitely silky. A wine with still a great potential for ageing
