2020 Maranges 1er Cru La Fussière, Domaine Bertrand Bachelet

This is an impressive parcel of vines, sloping steeply high up the hillside. The soil is more limestone than clay, in contrast to the heavier soil in Clos Roussots on the plain, which is why Bertrand has both Chardonnay and Pinot successfully planted here. It has a certain finesse and refinement, more in keeping with grander appellations a little further north. Lots of wine for your money here.
