2022 Bourgogne Roncevie, Domaine Arlaud

Roncevie is a vineyard to the south of Gevrey, next to Les Sevrées, famously once classified as Gevrey-Chambertin in its entirety but then split into part Bourgogne, part Villages. It just so happens that the part reclassified as Bourgogne happened to be owned, at the time, mainly by vignerons from Morey! That’s the history anyway. The good news is that, as consumers, we get to drink something that should possibly be upgraded in terms of classification for not very much money. The 2022 version has a nice fragrance and more substance than many of its peers at this level, with a good mix of bright and darker red fruits. Drink from 2025
