Tesselaarsdal was established by Berene Sauls, who combines this personal project with her day job, managing logistics at Hamilton Russell. Berene named Tesselaarsdal after the quiet farming community where she grew up in the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge. Working with carefully selected cool-climate vineyard sites, and making the wines in the Hamilton Russell cellar, she produces elegant, small-production wines that reflect both this compelling place and her energetic personality. An unoaked Chardonnay, made in clay pots, is vibrant and refreshing, and a refined Pinot Noir completes this pair of compelling and seriously enjoyable wines.
