Based in the Grand Cru village of Oger, Domaine Vincey is one of Champagne’s most exciting new growers. Run by Quentin and Marine Vincey, the estate reflects the energy and precision of a new generation in the Côte des Blancs, something we are following with keen interest at Flint. Quentin returned to his family vineyards in 2009, produced his first wines (and switched to organic farming) in 2014 and although he and his wife have collaborated on the winemaking since 2016, Marine came on board formally in 2019.
Their focus is firmly on the vineyards: eight hectares of old-vines, with all newer plantings coming from massale selection, and all Chardonnay. The vineyards are mostly close to home in Oger, handed down through the Vincey family, with smaller holdings in Le Mesnil and Vertus, and in Mardeuil from Marine’s family. Farming has been certified organic and biodynamic since 2023, having started conversion in 2019.
In the cellar, lightness of touch is the order of the day. The gravity cellar starts with the use of a traditional 4,000kg Coquard press, before wild fermentation in oak. All the wines go through malo, with some developing a subtle veil of flor, adding texture and intrigue.
The resulting Champagnes show purity, tension and layered depth— transparent expressions of Oger’s chalky terroir. These are incredibly exciting Champagne growers to get behind.
