Chris and Suzaan Alheit have become defining figures in modern South African wine, and demand remains insatiable with each release. Since establishing Alheit Vineyards, they have built an international reputation for producing some of the Cape’s most compelling white wines, centred around old-vine Chenin Blanc and exceptional vineyard sites scattered across the region. Their philosophy is simple: find remarkable vineyards and allow them to speak as clearly as possible. Distance is no barrier, with Chris regularly travelling 6 hours between vineyard sites. Wines such as Cartology have become modern South African classics, combining texture and precision with an unmistakable sense of place.
