Riesling
Riesling is a white grape of the very highest calibre, with thrilling acidity and a remarkable capacity to express its terroir. Be they dry, "fruity" (such as Kabinett or Spätlese) or sweet, the best Rieslings are also exceptionally age-worthy. Nowhere is Riesling more at home than on the vertiginous slate slopes of the Mosel, but Alsace, the north of Italy and New Zealand's South Island are other high-quality sources.
