Chenin Blanc
Chenin Banc is most at home in Vouvray and Montlouis in the Loire Valley and in South Africa's Western Cape. Most of the wines are dry, with thrilling acidity, but Chenin also accounts for some of the world's greatest sweet wines – not to mention delicious sparkling wines, made using the traditional or ancestral method. Thanks primarily to a host of dynamic South African producers, who can often draw on old-vine parcels, this is something of a golden age for Chenin.
