Flint Wines Dinner Club
We launched the FWDC in 2010 and it has been a great success. With lots of members now signed up (it’s free to join!) we host 6 dinners a year in some of London’s finest restaurants. We organise the venue, the menu, the corkage and the theme of the wines. You come armed with bottles! Prices vary obviously according to the venue but we try and keep them sensible. Each member brings 2 bottles or a magnum of one wine. For example we held a Gevrey-Chambertin-themed dinner at Michelin-starred L’Autre Pied in Febraury 2011 which featured 16 wines from 11 domaines and 10 different vintages across 4 decades. It’s a great opportunity to pull some good corks with like-minded people. As we all know not all of our friends appreciate the difference between a Gevrey-Chambertin and a Chambertin! The wines are discussed in a very informal way and there is always plenty of good debate to be had.
Tastings
En Primeur
Each January we host an primeur Burgundy tasting which will feature as many as 100 cask or recently bottled samples of the very latest releases, co-inciding with our full offer. With several growers in attendance to discuss their views on the vintage it provides the perfect backdrop to learn all about the subtleties of the vintage.
Corporate
We are able to offer bespoke tastings for corporate evenings. They can be formal tutored tastings or relaxed and informative ones with a competitive edge to them. Our expertise and passion should ensure a successful evening for both the company and its clients.
