Exclusive Wines

We are lucky enough to work with some of the finest winemakers in the world. Although they may work in different regions or countries and with different grape varieties, they all share one thing in common: a passion to make the best possible wines they can. Quality over quantity every time. Attention to detail, typicity, flair, complexity, refinement. This is what we are looking for. Some of the wines we buy are produced in quantities as small as 50 cases. That’s 50 cases for the whole world. You can’t get much more exclusive than that. Unsurprisingly, we don’t work with supermarkets; we are just not interested in the sort of wines that they are interested in and the sort of volumes they need.

Most of our growers could easily be described as artisanal, showing true dedication to their craft and real passion about what they are doing. They are not industrial winemakers. Their work in their vineyards is crucial to the quality of their end product and they have a real feel for the way nature works. Every vintage is different and our winemakers like their wines to express the characteristics of each one. Would it be dull if all their wines tasted the same, year in year out. Yes we want quality but we also want personality, too.

Many of the wines we import are available to our customers on an allocation basis only. Each year, having tasted the wines out of barrel (often several times), we receive our allocation from our growers which we accept most gratefully. For a lot of the wines we sell this first offering will be the only time these wines come to market. It’s an exciting process if a little frustrating at times but that is the nature of the wines we deal with. January is the main time for our ‘en primeur’ Burgundy offerings so always make sure you are not holiday during this vital month!

Personal Service

With forty years experience in the wine industry between us, we are able to offer a very personal and informed service to all of our customers.

When you contact Flint Wines you will be able to speak directly to the people who are running the company, buying the wines and making the decisions. You won’t come through to a bank of telesales people not knowing who you are or anything about wine.

We spend a great deal of our time tasting the wines that we have bought (it’s a tough job but someone’s got to do it!). We know them inside out. We also know the people who make them and the stories behind them. Indeed many of our growers have become firm friends. We are the link between you and the domaines and are here to offer as much help and advice as you need. It is always our pleasure to pass on the inside knowledge.

We like to get to know our customers as much as possible. It helps us provide the bespoke service you are looking for. It also means you might invite us to help you drink all the wonderful wines we have sold you when they peak in ten years time.

All of us are passionate about both food and wine and we derive great pleasure from sharing our enthusiasm and knowledge with like-minded people. We want to provide a very professional and efficient service to all of our customers but not at the expense of that personal touch.

We look forward to talking with you.
