Les Perruches is a vineyard behind the family home where most of the wine is sourced
Domaine Philippe Foreau
The modern Domaine dates back to 1919 when Armand Foreau returned from the Great War. He ran the domaine until the 1960’s when his son André took over.
His son Philippe joined the Domaine in 1980 taking full charge in 1983, and he has been in charge ever since. The domaine remains at 12 hectares, planted 100% with Chenin Blanc, the average of the vines is 40 years. The vineyards are run in a natural way, the grapes are hand-harvested, yields are 35hl/ha, only natural yeast are used for fermentation, no malo, no new oak and very little sulphur. This is arguably the finest domaine in Vouvray.
