A marginally riper nose of spicy dark berry fruit is, somewhat surprisingly, even more elegant as are the sleekly muscled, rich, full and sweet flavors that possess better length but not quite the same depth. A qualitative choice though the personalities of these two wines are indeed distinctly different.

An extremely fresh and bright nose features an elegant blend of both red and blue pinot fruit aromas trimmed in a deft touch of wood that is already well integrated on the rich, supple and relatively forward medium-bodied flavors that possess good detail on the reserved finish. This is lovely and nicely balanced but doesn't quite have the depth of material as the best here.

Noticeable wood spice serves as a backdrop for a highly expressive and pure nose of black pinot fruit and violet floral aromas that merge seamlessly into rich and nicely full flavors blessed with a velvety and sappy mouth feel, all wrapped in a delicious, dusty and sweet finish that evidences more obvious acidity. This is a sophisticated effort and very pretty.

A discreet touch of wood frames a similar nose of red and blue berry fruit as well as dark floral notes that complement well the silky, round and very Chambolle flavors that are blessed with finer tannins and sneaky length. This is lovely and understated.

A high-toned, pure and more refined nose of red pinot fruit possesses a subtle whiff of wet stone that carries over to the detailed, round and utterly delicious flavors that culminate in a finish of finesse and tenderness. This is very Chambolle in character.

This offers excellent aromatic depth with a complex and layered nose of red, blue and black pinot fruit laced with subtle spice and earth notes, both of which continue onto the serious, rich and relatively full-bodied flavors that are firm, long and quite pure. This is a relatively refined effort for the appellation.

A ripe and highly expressive nose that is airy and very spicy features layered and high-toned aromas of red and blue pinot fruit along with plum notes that are in keeping with the lacy, seductive and focused middle weight flavors that possess excellent length. This is very poised, in fact it's Zen-like.

Here the nose is quite similar to that of the En Orveaux as the altitude of the two sites definitely shows as the medium-bodied flavors are ever-so-slightly riper with more obvious minerality being traded for a bit less finesse on the long and palate staining finish. Two different expressions but qualitative equals.
