2009 Chambertin Tasting Note
This is also quite reserved and only aggressive swirling coaxes notes of dark berries, plum, violet, earth and wet stone from the glass. The extremely concentrated and powerful mid-palate adds weight to the intensely mineral-driven and cool broad-shouldered flavors that possess chewy and mouth coating tannins that are largely, if not completely, buffered by the remarkable amounts of dry extract that is present in abundance on the focused, moderately austere and strikingly long finish. An explosive wine built for the very long-term.

A very ripe and pretty nose of plum and dark berry fruit liqueur aromas introduces pure and quite fine middle weight flavors that possess excellent richness, indeed to the point where the mouth feel of the finish is velvety as there is an abundance of tannin-buffering extract. This solidly structured and well-concentrated effort possesses fine balance and outstanding length plus it should amply reward long-term cellaring.

2010 Gevrey-Chambertin 'Clos Tamisot' Tasting Note
This is a bit more elegant still with a very ripe and densely fruited nose where the earth component takes center stage and continues as a significant component of the concentrated and ultra-serious, even strict flavors that possess very ripe and prominent tannins. This is borderline chewy but the balance is excellent as is the length. A robust and rustic but impressive villages that will require up to a decade of cellar time to shed its considerable structure.
