Run by Mikael Desestret, this hidden away domaine produces a very classical, mineral, long living Saint-Joseph that doesn’t pander to fancy, modern whims. It sings of Syrah, shows good bite and pleases with its fragrant aromas of granite, violets and spice. 2005 is a compact and powerful vintage and should age very well. For those of you who like proper Syrah this is for you. A lovely food wine and very stylish.
