This is a domaine that, in the past, has lived somewhat in the shadows of its grander neighbours, but with Jean's very likeable son, Guillaume, now in charge that is changing. Quietly ambitious and clearly very passionate about what he is doing, he seems keen to maintain the classical style of the domaine's wines whilst adding greater concentration and complexity to them. Over the past couple of years Guillaume has been experimenting with whole bunch pressing and in consequence he seems to have have added a more seductive character to the wines without sacrificing their classical flavours. There is plenty of quality here and value, too.
