The name of Sauzet is synonymous with Puligny-Montrachet, having been one of its best sources for many years, despite the break up of the family vineyards over 20 years ago. These days winemaker Gerard Boudot spends a little more time on the golf course and a little less time in the cuverie, leaving much of the day to day running of the business to his daughter, Emilie, and his son in law, Benoit Riffault. Tasting at Sauzet is always a great pleasure; not only are the family especially charming but the wines are a lesson in terroir definition. These are true Pulignys, delicate, pure, refined and true to their origins.
