Pierre took over from his father, Gilles, in 2005, and the quiet yet ambitious winemaker is already making a name for himself. His approach to winemakeing is spot on, believing in finesse, purity and terroir over extraction and oak. The domaine is small but has very good holdings including a couple of barrels of Clos de Beze and Charmes Chambertin. We kicked off with the 2008s and a few 2007s and fully expect this domaine to continue on its steep upward curve. At our tastnig en primeur tasting in January the 2008s were very well received by tasters and we are already very low on stock on many of the wines. Prices are very attractive at the moment, although inevitably they will rise as his reputation spreads.
