Domaine Dujac
Entrance
  Morey-St-Denis

Established from scratch as recently as 1968 by Jacques Seysses (du-Jacques) this domaine’s progress to the top of the tree has been sensationally fast. Throughout the 1970s and ‘80s Jacques gradually built up an enviable portfolio of vineyards which included many of the highly sought-after Grands Crus. His wines quickly gained a reputation for quality and soon won a very loyal following both in Europe and back in the States, where his wife, Roz, hails from.

His eldest son, Jeremy, 34, now runs the domaine with his wife Diana, who is the estate’s official oenologist. And with his brother, Alec, looking after the export market and his parents still deeply involved, the domaine remains very much a family affair.

2005 saw the culmination of the domaine’s expansion with the daring co-purchase (with Etienne de Montille) of Domaine Thomas which has added both quantity and quality to the range; the highlight perhaps being some Vosne-Romanee Malconsorts.

The style of Dujac is certainly distinct yet not at the expense of terroir. Its wines are both lush and pure with an intoxicating sense of silky, fleshy elegance.  Their poise and balance ensures that they can be drunk both in youth and old age with equal pleasure.

A certain amount of delicious white Morey-St-Denis is also produced, both at village level and 1er Cru level. The 2002 1er Cru Monts Luisant was served at Jeremy and Diana’s wedding in 2005, a tip in itself!

Alongside the Domaine wines Jeremy and Diana also produce a small amount of high quality village negotiant wines that are made with the same care and attention to details as their peers but drink a little earlier. They also come in at lower price point. Cleverly released under the Dujac Fils & Père label, they make for an excellent introduction to the world of Dujac.
